Founded by Kyle Bennett and James Lowe in 2008 while graduate students at Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland, The Ligetisplit Ensemble is dedicated to the pursuit of the avant-garde as well as creating new and exciting performance opportunities for musicians.
Some unique elements of The Ligetisplit Ensemble are the inclusion of an ever-changing roster of performers and composers, an emphasis on the creation of new music and ideas, and idea that all music should be accessible to all people - regardless of financial means. ALL CONCERTS SHOULD BE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
As well as having an interest in holding concerts is a variety of locations, the ensemble holds an emphasis on a diversified, ever changing concert program.
